well.. time to ready, set, go..

It's currently 10:15pm on Friday and things are looking great.

2 snowmakers started today at 6PM and fired up the guns and things are moving right on schedule..

Tonight we are simply establishing the base of the hill. 4 Guns are spread out evenly to allow us to take advantage of the W-SW winds tonight and blast from one side to the other in even lines.

The goal is quantity, not quality tonight.

Since its going to be a long few days we all had to throw our bodies off to get used to late shifts.. basically forced ourselves to stay up last night then battle today and got a few hours of sleep around 5.

It should be a great night but we are a little nervous with tonights operations.. Since we are trying to create as much snow as possible we will be pushing the guns to limit in terms of how much water vs. temperature we are putting out. As a result, if the humidity, winds or temperature change just slightly we will be producing wicked puddles in a few minutes. This will require us to constantly monitor the guns every 15-20 minutes to make sure we are producing as much as possible with the current weather.

Since there isn't any natural yet, we can't use the snow-based vehicles for transportation around the hill.. as a result we'll be putting on our hiking boots tonight and using the truck from point a to b but then hiking up and down the hills in the dark.. Hopefully the winds will calm down and we can keep the guns where they are and not move them.

well thats it for now, time for some pizza pizza to take for lunch and we're off. Photos will be posted by the morning.
